Capitalism is a better option as a form of government; it came into being after feudalism had disappeared from the west. It actually means that the government does not have full control over private businesses and over private properties. That is, the laissez-faire of the government is not totalitarian. It helps the nation economically, motivates the people and supports free enterprise, unlike communism. In communism should create a classless, moneyless and stateless social order but in reality it does not hold true. On paper and in theory it sounds very promising, but it is never maintained true to its principal. This philosophy was adopted by Carl Marx in Russia and in China; it is often mistaken as a socialist government too.

Capitalism has been favored by the western world. It is a total contrast to socialism and all the goods and services are produced directly for their utility and not only for profit seeking businesses. There are many types of capitalism. Britain and France follow Mercantilism, where there is a positive balance of trade with other nations and thereby the wealth of the nation also increases. The western and northern European countries follow the social market economy, which allows free market system. Many countries are following State capitalism where there is more productive efficiency and a fair distribution of wealth.

If communication were such a better option then the Soviet Union wouldn’t have collapsed after the Cold War where it was considered one of the super powers. Communism does not give the stability to the government because it needs a dynamic, selfless and efficient leader who can share the profits equally without being bias or partial. But seeing the unrest in all the political unrest in a communist government, I would definitely say that capitalism is a far better option.

Even the idea of communism is flawed, it is an idea in the hope that everyone will do their part to help others which in reality is not true, if there is no money, there will be no motivation to do what is needed. Most people would see it as pointless, if everyone was given an equal amount of compensation then nobody would do the harder jobs because it wouldn't be fair.

This is why you should vote for capitalism because it is a more realistic way of life. Capitalism is an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained mainly by corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth. You can't just live in a fantasy land where everyone is equal, people are different, everyone has a different opinion and people treat others in different ways therefor how can everyone be equal. The places that have tried to follow communism have failed with it, even china isn't following communism to the point they are using a completely different perspective of it, they still have a currency, their economic system is nothing like the one in communism and they arnt a democratic

Pro-Capitalism

Capitalism is an economical system based on an ideology that emphasises on the importance of the individual’s rights to choose his work, his goals, and his pursuit in life. Capitalism is mainly based on the relationships between consumers, laborers, and the capitalists. The system is defined by the market; capitalists and laborers creating and exporting more goods for less than what they import and buy, creating a flow of capital that benefits those who work and produce, as well as those buying.

Capitalism is most commonly associated with America, as it believes in freedom, and individuality. America grants the most basic traits of Capitalism, private ownership of the means of production, a social class structure of free wage-earners and private owners, along with a certain division of labor and commercial organization of market. In an ideal Capitalist society everyone would work to earn their wages, not have them handed out. As America was founded on biblical theology, one theme was, “If a man does not work, let not eat also.” This doesn’t apply to special cases such as injured or sick, thought the logic is undeniable. Japan also uses Capitalism in the early 1900’s, though they came into it from a feudalistic society. They began this as they were forced to open to the western influence and establish trade, due to the threat of being attacked. Though Japan was forced into it, they began to flourish under this new system of government and marketing, and later becoming a world power. Capitalism is a system where hard work can pay off, and no one is left free-loading, while the truly needy are taken care of.

Communism on the other hand is a system where the government controls all of the choices and aspects of the people’s lives, removing from them their freedom. In an ideal world though, where the obvious block of human nature doesn’t apply, Communism would be a system where people would all work for the benefit of all. People would all be equal, except the government, and despite the job you did you would all get paid the same, and be treated the same. Again, ideally, people wouldn’t be selfish or overly motivated to dominate a business and get ahead. Though the idea of a perfect ideal society is a great thought, it is still only a thought. Human nature, greed, and envy will prevail causing a rupture in the system, where someone will have to step up and over power another. Though the power defaults to the government, despite the “equality” of the system. The system hasn’t ever caught on without being forced, further proving the flaws of Communism.

First things first, capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership of goods and businesses. It gives people freedom to use their money how they want to and let them purchase what they want. It was first thought up of from Karl Marx, in his writings.

The benefits of capitalism are of a large amount. The system allows people to get what they want, and control the economy this way. The economy moves with the people’s demands. This can be seen in the United States market. There are also many forms of capitalism, which can be implemented in the right places for the country. This was seen when countries used mercantilism, all the way back into the roman era.

Capitalism also has a strong “base” to work from. What this means, is that if one part of the economy broke down, the market would naturally be able to solve the problem, with all of the businesses in that area. If the same thing happened to communism, since only the government controls everything, there would be nothing left for the economy to hang on to.

Capitalism also provides an award system. This gives workers incentive to work hard and drive the economy. In communism, there is no drive for the people, since they will all get the same amount anyways.

In my opinion, the capitalist way of running a country provides a greater output, more organized, and has a strong base where the communism lacks in.

It seems that you've made the assumption that all of the needs of the economy and wants of the people from a positive perspective. What if they want guns? What if they want drugs? An award system established by a Capitalist system also suggests the possibility that the incentive could be taken away. For example, if people decided not to work, the incentive would be gone and the people would abandon their work; this affects everyone, not just the individual.

Last time I checked, the incentive is working, because the United States has the best defense system and program, totes a 15 trillion dollar GDP (over twice that of China), and is 4th in HDI (human development index, a tool which measures how developed a country is, taking into account LIVING CONDITIONS, working conditions, production, etc.), of which none of the countries in the top three might I add are communist states.

You are forgetting that the businesses too are mainly independent of the government, with the exception of corporations, who choose what they do based on stock holders and the government. this means it is also in the businesses best interest to choose what to do with their product. if the people wanted guns, the businesses could choose not to give them if it meant harm to the business. it also depends on what reason the people would want the guns. in the United States, as long as you have the license and a legally allowed to purchase a gun, you can purchase a gun. to even receive a gun permit you need to go through multiple tests to see if it is even a good idea to give them the permit. if the people want either the drugs or the weapons, they will break the laws put in place to keep the peace and get them illegally. at this point, it does not matter if the economy is capitalist or communist, the person would be punished in either one. and with communism, the people might want to get the weapons illegally so that they could get more of their "share" of the pile that the government gives them.

it has also been found throughout history that people strive to make themselves have more than the next person. with communism, even though it gives everyone equal amounts, there is no reason to work more than the next person. this leaves the economy in the lowest 70% that the economy is capable of, compared to a capitalist economy, which is at a much higher output per capita.

if people start to revolt also, the economy will bend to their needs, and eventually improve their income and way of living.

Capitalism proves to be unquestionably more productive, effective, and just towards the nation upon which it serves in comparison to communism. There are countless reasons for this - however, simply several important ones will suffice in showing how this incredible system outmatches its weakness-ridden opponent known as communism.

Firstly, capitalism is based on a meritocracy, which refers to a society where people are rewarded for their actions through merit, meaning that the harder they work, or the more valuable their work is, the more they are acknowledged and rewarded. This is not only by far the most just way of doing things, as it rewards those who work hard for their diligent actions, but is also the most productive manner upon which to run the economy, since it provides people with an incentive to work harder and aspire to great things. This aspiration and determination to accomplish more is what fuels the economy, and stimulates the production of high-quality goods and services and the presence of dedicated individuals who make it all happen. Communists might argue that this leads to wealth being distributed unevenly and unfairly among the public, yet it is these same countries based on communist ideals, such as DPRK (North Korea) and China, that can only boast about having some of the worst living and working conditions and highest poverty rates in the world. The communist mindset supports and gives excuse to the lazy and incompetent workers resting unproductively in society. Those who have earned nothing and deserve no reward from their merit are babied and literally given the same rewards, in the forms of money, property, etc., as those who work harder than anyone else, and have earned their rewards due to relentless determination and dedication. Communism tries to convince the masses that it is fair. Does this seem fair to you? If it does, then it may be wise to move to a communist country. Oh wait, they won’t let you in because of their biased immigration policies. Still seem like a better option?

In addition, communism not only promotes mediocrity, but but takes away almost all freedom on the public and corporate level. As mentioned, there is no private property or private ownership of the factors of production. Communists say “you bet that’s right, because the people own the factors of production”. Sure, every single person “owns” them theoretically, not just corporations or those who have earned the ownership through merit - but what does this really mean? If the factors of production are represented as a cheese cake, communism “generously” and “fairly” allows every single person to have, yes that’s right, a grain of the graham cracker crust. Sure, wouldn’t it be great if we all got at least some of that graham cracker crust, even if it’s just a little bit - but what’s the point if you get so little that you can’t even experience the pleasure of tasting it? And even more so, what you work 10 times harder than the person sitting next to you, yet there you both are, sitting with the same tiny crumb thinking about the best way to savour that miniscule peace of heaven. Capitalism, on the other hand, lets those, who have earned it of course, take their share of that cheesecake, not to mention how much bigger the cheesecake would be considering that free market economies founded upon the concept of capitalism lead to enormously higher production rates and GDP. The United States, arguably the most capitalist and free enterprise nation, maintains over a 15 trillion dollar GDP each year, compared to it’s next closest competitor, China, who by the way is arguably a communist state, which has less than half of that very number at roughly 7 trillion dollars. This isn’t emotional viewpoints, this isn’t persuasion, this isn’t even a debate - these are the facts. Of course, knowing communist states, they don’t even publish the correct facts about their nation in the first place - when was the last time you heard of North Korea’s pathetic GDP? That’s because they don’t publish one. But in a way, they have reason, because it’s better that these lesser countries hide their failures than pollute the rest of the world with their putrid, overflowing cesspool that is represented by their inadequate communist governments.

I would like to point out that you have only ever experienced a capitalist lifestyle, in which all these issues you brought up about factors of production and the like are necessary. This is purely theoretical, but wouldn't a communist lifestyle be far different? People adapt to meet their situations, so if we lived in a communist world, then maybe the world itself would be completely different. We would have adapted to gain balance among us.

Also, I would like to question the point of this debate entirely, since capitalism is largely an economic system, thus the whole system is based on money, whereas communism is more of a political or social system. Since capitalism runs on money, it would have adapted to get better economies, and that is undeniable. Capitalists have more money, just look at Adam Smith, but money isn't everything. Remember that saying? "Money can't buy you happiness?" You can say anything you want, but that statement holds true. It takes a lot more than monetary success to be happy, can capitalism provide that?

Most of the countries in the world follow democratic capitalism. There must be some benefits to the society when people want capitalism and the government goes with that system. There are several advantages and I will discuss 3 major topics; built on Democracy, economic growth, and happiness.

Democracy is the greatest thing about capitalism. It is also related to the equality among people. Everyone gets 1 vote, and that shows the equal power politically. Their race, political view or gender doesn’t matter in voting. In Britain, legislation has allowed the prisoners to vote. Though they are in jail because of their crime, but the government agreed that they are equal as citizen.

The capitalism allows the economy to grow. The more money a company makes, the more it can invest in production, and the more it invests in production, the more money it can make. In capitalism, the government does not involve in personal economic company. For an example, European countries supported individual investment and that allowed Europe to grow during industrial revolution. The government only supports the investment for economic growth of whole nation.

Happiness is very important to the citizens. Happiness only comes when there is freedom and when they feel they are part of the society. The happiness maps published by scholars from the University of Leicester, capitalist countries are the happiest in the world. This is because they feel free in the society and satisfy their life with only necessary rules upon them.

Equality in voting? California gets far more votes than other American states, simply because it has more people. Concerning race and gender, do you know how much fighting there was to achieve the lowered social status that non-white people have? And women? There's a reason there are strikes for women's rights. Women still get paid less on average than males for most jobs. Racial discrimination is practically written into us. Even now, if you see an Arab on the streets, you would be slightly more cautious than if you saw an American walking around. While it's true that race and gender don't matter when you vote, that is only one aspect of America. In almost every other aspect of life, we still hold these stereotypical views of people.

And as for happiness, people are like cats: if you give them a ball of string, they'll be obsessed with it for ages. In most males, the ball happens to be guns and destruction, which America happens to do extremely well (congratulations for killing two countries, you must be so proud of all the innocent lives you ruined), and for girls, this ball is generally anything that improves their aesthetic appeal, which, due to the inarguably larger economy, America is able to provide. However, this simply increases consumerism. People are materialistic. If all it takes to make someone happy is a new iPhone, is it really worth it? "You get satisfaction out of feeling better than someone or something else." (Désirée Tan) Is that really happiness, or is it the capitalistic view that, by being better than people, you can gain merit? If you're happy you got the WII U simply because no one else has it, or that you have more money than the people on the streets, is that humane happiness? Or is it just greed?

Greed is a sin, no matter which way you look at it. Capitalism inspires people to be more greedy, because the reward is higher for having more. People get on top by pushing others down, even though they were fine where they originally stood. Also, once they reach this higher point, if they fall back to the point they were initially at, they feel worse than they did before. This is what leads to suicide and murder. People suffer losses because they fall from a place they took so long to reach, and as a result, they feel like they're worse off than they started. They start to see no choices, and eventually succumb to the hopelessness inside.

Note that all this starts from an imbalance. An imbalance created by capitalism, not communism. An imbalance created by the theory that people will strive to achieve more when they have the extra pot of gold at the end, but the problem is that the rainbow never ends. Some don't stop chasing, and when they reach their last breath, they realize they missed all the sights along the way to get the gold, and others, that give up early on, initially lose themselves out of the desolation experienced from realizing they will never get the gold, but then after this phase of depression, it occurs to them that they have found balance. People don't need more money than the minimum to survive. If they learn to be content with as much as they need, and not as much as they desire, they will understand how much better a place the world is. Communism is based on this contentedness, this peace. The true happiness.

Nihaal has already said a lot of good point to counter your arguments, so I'll keep it simple, and short.

Democracy does not belong solely to capitalism. Communism has existed with democracy before, so has socialism. I therefore find your point completely invalid.

As for the economy, private ownership can increase business by quite a lot, but does it truly make the economy stronger, in communism, you'd have a more stable economy, and a lot of more manual labor, which gives you a lot to work with, when boosting the economy.

In your argument, you mentioned how people are happy when they fell that they are part of a society. That I believe is false. Most people under capitalism would realize how truly insignificant they are, as there would be many people in any country. The happiness maps that you have mentioned are a good boost for your team, but we can all agree that this is because communism has not been allowed to succeed in our modern society.

As everyone in the world has different aspect on economic system, there is no wrong answer between communism and capitalism; however, it is more effective and beneficial to have capitalism rather than communism for its nation’s economic growth.

At first, a lot of historical events have already shown that capitalism is more effective for the economic growth compared to communism. For example, the tremendous economic growth that Americans experienced from the time of the original Tea Party up to 1914 was the result of economic freedom from government regulation, open boarders for free immigration, and very few trade restrictions on the global flow of goods, services, and capital. Moreover, the most significant factor in China economy’s exponential growth is related to capitalism too. China has decided a capitalist system for specific area to be exclusive industrial zone. This change let rapid economic growth in China.

Secondly, freedom in economic activity is limited in communism compared to capitalism. For example, anyone can benefit from their success through private accomplishments in Capitalist country. According to the basic principle of capitalism, harder you work, greater you award. Thus, people might put more effort on their work with their greed to have more property, which becomes motivation to the economic growth. In other word, people produce good products in low price by critical thinking since it is a free competitive market for more private benefits. This led to the outcome of supplying better in materials, shape, and use goods. Moreover, people can choose the occupation by themselves, produce whatever they want, and consume what they want so that they can improve their talent more effectively.

However, people in communist country cannot have their own property, which prevent people’s nature-greed. Bill gates, who is a famous American programmer doesn’t need to give his all money to the government since he is not in communist country; thus, he can earn everything from what he has achieved.

Some communists say that capitalism is disadvantageous in rich and poor gap. However, enforcement of labor union and income redistribution policy’s being promoted shows its unfairness between rich and poor is overcoming through some methods.

Capitalism is an economic system where wealth is privatized, that is, controlled by individuals. In the present of the world, more than 80 % countries of the world prefer capitalism more because of the ideology of capitalism. Their main ideology is “country must give freedom to people”. The capitalism government of the people was built by the people for the people.

First of all, economically, each person’s wealth is distributed unevenly. People can gain more their own benefits by how much and long we work hard. Also the benefits that they earned, is privately owned. Nobody can control or take over from them. Also, some When people compete against one another, they achieve greater things. When individuals work to enrich themselves, they benefit society as a whole - the invisible hand of the marketplace, leading individuals to work for the greater good, even though their main concern is themselves.

Furthermore, the main ideology of capitalism is that human right is the most important than anything. Each person has their own thoughts. People need freedom and they should use freedom. But Capitalism forces to change their own ideas and right. In capitalism, they should hear, saw and feel what the government wants. They just keep push and control every citizen’s right. Only the people who have power get only benefits. Also, their leader should be chose by the previous leader without any citizen’s thought. Unlikely capitalism countries, in the capitalism, people choose their leader by them fairly.

The achievements of capitalism in the advanced industrial economies have spread across the world as capitalism itself has spread. More people have been lifted from starvation in the past two decades than ever before in human history, and the economic rise of countries such as China and India is bringing improved standards of living to millions. Capitalism has achieved more for humanity than any other institution people have developed. That is why most of countries are being capitalism.

Plus… one question for communism sides… if people satisfy of the life in communism, then why everyone tries to escape from their in every day?

Firstly the main difference between Capitalism and Communism is one is collective and the other is individualistic. Communism is collective in the way that equality is present. Equality over the basic needs of life and ownership distribution. Capitalism is not a system but a principle. A principle of freedom and property rights.

In capitalism there is no group or individual set to control that principle but it lies in each and every citizen. However this is the opposite in Communism and the extent to freedom and property rights are leveled out.

The many benefits of communism are indicative of a society with the value for people. More specifically the creation of one's self to the fullest. For example in a Capitalist country like the United States of America, the levels of innovation always rise and give way to companies across the world. Not only do they contribute to supply in other nations but also spread the ideas of creativity and new ideas. This also leads to economic growth. Therefore increasing capital of the country, all through the idea of supply and demand. From the private ownership who supplies and the demand that the people freely make to buy the products.

Now what would happen if this ability to use creativity to privately own and sell innovations was restricted through the government. Like in Stalinst Russia. Where even if the innovation had nothing to with opposing Stalin, the innovation was not catering the need for the state's beliefs and therefore would be banned. This would result in people loosing their intellectual property for other people, who have not worked for it or contributed anything to it. So why is it that they share it with the creator. However even in Communism, suppose you did have some freedom to invent. What would be the motive if you know it's going to be distributed in terms of the revenue. This is very diminishing to many and this profit motive is greatly present in capitalism.

The next aspect is the point of induviduality. What seperate's one from the other? How would their be competition if there is no free market? How would a nation then compete with another nation? Once again take a look at Stalinst Russia when their 5 year plan failed to meet the standards it set and still would be far lower in production than other nations.

Some question the unfairness to those who are not able to work due to disabilities or age. Well these people in the U.S for example have health care laws and retirement plans. Also for those who in poverty, welfare is provided. If we look at a situation where you end up in failure. Whether you, your family or a whole part of the nation then who is to blame? In communism the government who regulates or the group in which your part of is to blame and in capitalism you only have yourself to blame. This fault can easily lead to unrest and war. I think that getting it over with your the government is much more uncivilized and time consuming than with figuring one's own life.

Finally, people can live freely. Without having to worry about any restrictions except the legislative, who protects freedom. One can explore life to it's fullest and experience the true self. If you want to give money to charity it's your choice. But in communism the system is a flowing charity while in capitalism it's a life of your choice.Where people own, some don't and other's are free. So Capitalism is far better than communism because it sustains and devlops innovation, induviduality and economic growth plus saves from war most of all, protects freedom.

What is capitalism? Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership of goods and business. Capitalism allows regular people the freedom to do what they want with their own money how they want. It gives the person the freedom to let them purchase what they want and spend it in any way they want. Its pretty much allows a person freedom to do what they want with that they make. Capitalism was first thought up of from Karl Marx.

People of a Capitalist place have many benefits. Capitalism allows people to get what they want, and control the economy this way. This means that the people have a control over the countries economy. This can be seen in that place called America even though the people there don’t really know how to manage their money.

Capitalism is a good way to run a country and it has a strong base to work from. This means that if one part of the economy broke down, the market would be able to solve the problem, with all of the businesses in that area. If the same thing happened to communism, since only the government controls everything, there would be nothing left for the economy. Capitalism also provides an award system. This gives workers the want to work hard and drive the economy. In communism the people don’t get anything out of it so why would they be bothered in trying to improve so why would they try if they will all get the same amount anyways.

Capitalism is a much better way to a country because its much more organized and would naturally have harder working people and a better economy

If capitalism was supposed to be a justified system and a promotion for people’s freedom, why would people revolt and fight against their unfair treatment? The problems that show up in news everyday always rise from suffer of people from economical deficiencies or the disregarding of the lower class. The conflicts between the rich and the poor, and the conflicts between the high class and the lower class always have existed from a class-existing society called capitalism. Can these also be freedom? Capitalism is just a system that benefits small percent of the people in the high position. In capitalism, people without money can never survive. No matter how people claim to have a fair-class society, there surely exists a difference between the higher-economic class and the lower-economic class in capitalism, and as far as this class-formation from relentless individualism exists, the injustice among the society has got to be remaining in the world.

Let's start with the basics; Capitalism is about individual wealth, and communism is about common wealth. When capitalism encourages competition, communism encourages unity and equality. It is true that communism looks more ideal, but as a whole nation, capitalism is a better choice.

If there is no competition, there will be absolutely no motivation for development; the nation will be self-sufficient, but not improving. When there is no development, the nation surely will be behind among nations, and get poorer as a result.

Even if the nation gets poorer, they will still share the wealth. An enthusiastic worker and a powerless old man gets the same wealth, that is just not fair, even though it looks fair on the surface.

Everyone should be equal, but everyone is different. People should be treated differently, depending on how much they show their worth. Capitalism will lead to the least waste of resources and the most healthy competition resulting a development.

You are saying that without competition there would be no motivation for development. This is not exactly true, especially considering that in a communist state, even if there is no competition between single citiziens, the goal of those citiziens is not to get more power over others, is to make the state become the best and most powerful it possibly could.

If everybody in a communist state worked hard to reach that goal, maybe there would be even more development than in a capitalist nation. The problem is not in the actual ideology of communism, it's in the menatality of most humans: we always have to rise over others without thinking about a greater good.

As you mentioned, communism crashes with human mentality, so it cannot be a better system than capitalism in reality. If everyone in a communist nation can be motivated in a healthy way, then communist will be perfect. However, without giving the hard workers enough "prize", most people will just get lazy and not work hard enough. Since the point of communism is everyone getting the same amount of wealth, the state cannot treat the hard workers differently. Another way of motivating them will probably be forcing or brainwashing them, but these do not sound so humane, do they?

Capitalism - an outlook on society based around the self - governing market system that allows those who put their abilities to work better to ultimately succeed. Capitalism emphasizes the freedom of the people and encourages ambition and hard work.

Communism - a contrasting system where there is strict government control on all aspects of society, including price controls and strict control of production. At the core of this system is to ultimately achieve equality for all where everyone provides for each other.

I believe that capitalism is clearly the more logical and practical system for any country for several reasons. Firstly, communism gives the right to the government to take the money, that the people worked very hard for, away and redistribute it in order to keep everyone equal. This is clearly unfair because those who worked harder than others will still get the same salary and be able to afford the same products and services as one who slacked off during his or her job, someone clearly not deserving the same pay as someone who actually put his/her full effort into the job. On the other hand, capitalism treats those who work harder and put effort into their work more fairly as these people would ultimately get higher pay than those who don’t work hard. For this reason, communism basically motivates individuals to be lazy because they will anyway get everything that all others will get.

Secondly, communism creates a society where competition is at its minimum because everyone has the same salaries, and no one would have any incentive to go ahead and put more effort into their work or better the quality of their goods because they wouldn’t get any reward at the end of it. A society without competition is clearly negative because products and services would be priced higher and the quality would stay where it began, if not becoming increasingly worse. In contrast, capitalism creates a society where competition thrives because people have the incentive of reaping the benefits of their hard work such as more money and privileges, therefore motivating people to increase the quality of their products/services and make better use of their abilities.

Thirdly, due to the previous two points, communism creates a society where growth of a country’s economy will be minimal - if all societies in history were communist, we would barely be in the Stone Age now. This is because communism doesn’t allow a certain business/businessman to be more successful than anyone else because communism states that everyone must be equal, this again doesn’t provide an incentive for anyone to do well in a business or even start one for that reason. On the hand, capitalism greatly helps the economies of countries grow because it allows businesses to gain money and be more successful than another, providing the incentive for making the business better, thus getting more profits and ultimately increasing the GDP/GNP of a country. A great example is South Korea vs. North Korea. The South went through a period of great growth from 1962 to the present – its GDP back then was a lowly US$ 2.7 billion, in 2007, the South’s GDP broke the US$ 1 trillion mark (that’s a 37037.04% increase in GDP in just 45 years!). Now compare that figure to North Korea’s current GDP of (around) US$ 40 billion.

Fourthly, communism may look fantastic on paper because of the strong ideas of equality behind it, but, ultimately, it is not a practical system to apply to society. People are far too ambitious and greedy to be satisfied with the money that the government provides the people equally because this is human nature. Rationing, for example, is a small-scale example of a government-controlled aspect of society/economy. Amongst the several disadvantages of rationing, is that people will never be satisfied with what they get, and if this government controlled system, communism, is applied to a larger group of individuals, then the consequences will only be more severe. Also, communist states are rather susceptible to turning into an oppressive totalitarian state due to the overwhelming power of the government, which allows the leader to basically control everything in society. For example, take Stalinist Russia - before Stalin’s rise to power, Russia had just turned to communism and was a ‘normal’ (as in not totalitarian) communist state, but this period was very short – lived. After Stalin took power, he oppressed the people of Russia and converted the nation into a totalitarian state, going against the ideals of communism. Furthermore, to date, there hasn’t been a single perfectly communist state EVER, this shows you just how impractical and difficult it is to implement this system in the correct fashion. This is a clear sign that communism, which is just an idea, will, and should remain exactly that because if it isn’t implemented perfectly, then the ideals of equality that communism was built on will be completely destroyed.

Fifth, in a way, capitalism also helps the people at large get what they want. This is because in a capitalist society, the economy is built around demand and supply. If the people want something new/different to be supplied (basically increasing demand), then new businesses can be built (new businesses can provide the supply for the increase in demand) in order to satisfy the people’s ever - changing wants and/or needs (can a need change? Hmmm…).

Lastly, those for communism might argue that capitalism promotes greed, but we have to remember that greed is a part of human nature, and as I demonstrated earlier while mentioning rationing, no one is going to be satisfied by getting what everyone else gets (this is actually small – scale competition between those in society).

FILIBUSTER FTW!

Alright, I wanted to stop you before you started, because you're wrong. Communism isn't a system with a strict government, it is a system with no government. It aims to create a classless society where everyone is equal, and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure having a government wouldn't qualify as equal. Also, there is no money in communism, but rather it is a system where everyone watches out for everyone else. I can't word this right, but Quinn/Hydro did, so just check his wording of it. I believe he mentioned it while refuting Jordan's argument, if you need any help finding it. Now, on to the actual argument.

First, no. As I said, communism gives no rights to a government to do anything, because there is no government. As for your point about people 'working hard,' we both know that is complete rubbish. “I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” (Bill Gates) The people that work the hardest generally get moderate jobs, but to rise above, you don't have to work harder at all. That's just how delusional capitalism has made people. People that strive to succeed in an area may sometimes actually rise above, but more often than not, they are overshadowed by people that just happen to be gifted, and aren't actually trying to perform at all. Just take school as an example; some of the top students in our grade don't do as much work as some of those with the lowest scores. There is clearly far more to getting rewards than just 'working hard.'

As to the second, there are no salaries. There is no money with which to have a salary. Communism is like symbiosis; a mutually beneficial way of life in which people work together to keep everyone from losing out. I'm not even going to mention anything about the rest of your argument, since it is fundamentally flawed.

The flaw is in the mindset. You live according to economy, which means you have already been sucked in by the propaganda of capitalism.

Consider capitalism and communism as two people, each showing their basic traits. Capitalism would be someone completely full of him or herself, with some results to show its worth, but always sings his or her own praises far more than necessary. On the contrary, communism is a person that doesn't tell people s/he is above anyone else, because s/he believes people are equal. As a result, s/he doesn't believe him or herself to be above capitalism, but simultaneously it doesn't fall below capitalism, either. Capitalism gets a larger group of people supporting him or her because s/he makes him/herself more noticed. This doesn't mean capitalism is in any way better than communism, it just means the former is louder than the latter. If you sing people a story long enough, they start to believe it. Guess how much time capitalism has had to drill him/herself into your brain. Every time communism has decided to attempt to rise up, capitalism feels threatened by him/her, and stomps him/her out immediately using his/her gathering of friends that eventually try to model him/her because s/he managed to use his/her small array of successes to form a bandwagoning.

Communism keeps getting kicked down before s/he can get up because capitalism knows that if s/he ever does stand, there will be a new kid in town that can take away all his/her followers, because communism is, in the end, far more likable. Think about it, would you rather a friend that always pushes you down to pull him/herself up, or would you rather one that treats you as an equal? Because that's communism for you; a system where the realism of equality is evident. A system of truth.

If you say that no system of money exists, then prices won't either, thus removing the benefits of prices (econ knee, econ), among with is the benefit of having a level playing field for the supplier and consumer. Furthermore, if a country has no system of money, then no one gets a salary, no one gets profits, no one get anything, therefore bring the country's GDP to grand total of NOTHING. If a country doesn't any money system, then it has no money, therefore it also can't get imports and make exports because the money that would come in from exports would be useless, and imports would be impossible because there is no money in order for any to come in. Finally, if you don't have any money system, how does one know how valuable something is? would you say that a Bugatti is comparable to toilet paper, because neither has a price to fairly and equally denote one from the other.

Secondly, if a state doesn't have a government, then it is just basically anarchy. You are arguing that it is possible to have "equal anarchy"? I don't think so. When there is anarchy, people tend towards SOMEONE, therefore elevating him above all others who follow him, this is human nature. This someone will always have more say and influence in matters just because he is the one who everyone seems to follow - therefore compromising the whole point of communism, to keep everyone and everyone's say equal.

Capitalism is an economic system in which corporations maintain production, investment, distribution, and exchange of wealth or state owned wealth. Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership, a person is free to do what they want with their money, they can control the economy the way they want to, this practice is used a lot in America. Capitalism is the best way to run a country and it has strong bases to work from. This shows that if one part of the economy brakes down, the market would be able to solve the problem, with all of the businesses in that area. Many countries have tried to use communism and have failed trying, even china isn't following communism. They are using a completely different perspective of communism. The western world has accepted capitalism. Capitalism is the best way to run a country because it’s much more organized and would have much harder working people and a better economy, than a communist country would.

The Capitalist system is the most advantageous system discovered so far in the world. The System has been criticized for “enslaving” the poor to the rich. Which is completely wrong . Though people are free to produce any goods and services, but they will only produce those goods, which other people will demand or need. Thus it is more about serving fellow being by fulfilling their needs and not about enslaving.

Since, every person can retain the profits or income generated by him or her, they are motivated to work hard. It encourages people to develop new goods and new types of services. Each person is free to pursue his or her own goals. Each person tries to get maximum income and profit. This creates competition. Competition brings efficiency and new sides in the society.

Even employees who are working for others, improves their standard of living instead of getting poor. The profit retained by people are invested back in business to get more profit. The new business needs more people. This cycle creates more employment. People get more opportunities in market. Thus employers have to pay more to hire people or retain them.

Most important part of capitalism is that people need to have freedom for this system to succeed. As opposed to this, in communism, the government has to forced people to accept, their plan. People who work on their own will be more happy than who are forced to work.

Capitalism is an economic system ruling by capital which is on purpose of the pursuit of profit. The advantages of capitalism are the government has limited control over business, which lets business compete. Capitalism lets people choose what kind of work they want to do and where they want to work. Capitalism lets people decide what they want to do with their money if they want to put it into a retirement account or in the stock market. Being specific, the market efficiency is higher, has economic prosperity and economic freedom, there is less poverty than Communist countries which means it is wealthier than it, and taxes are less. Therefore compare to Communism, Capitalism is superior on every matter of economy.

Capitalism is an economic system which gives the citizens of a country the freedom to choose his path of life. It is the best form 0f government. In a capitalist state the government of that country does not have full control over the private businesses and properties of the people. It is like the opposite of a totalitarian government. Here people have freedom to do what they want and what they are good at. It is one of the most successful governments too.

In a capitalist country the system of the government is democratic. A great president Abraham Lincoln once said (referring to a democratic government.)”A Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth. “Even he agrees wit me that a democratic government is strong. Cause, its made by the people, as in the leaders are voted by the people, for the people as in the leaders are there for the people, they are there to represent their people. And finally of the people, the leaders are of the people, they are just ordinary people who are elected as leaders. Therefore a democratic government is strong and statistics show that almost all of the countries which have a democratic government have the best economies, and all the people here are very happy. Like America has been a democratic country for a long time and they have one of the best economies in the world.

A capitalist country, the country is driven by free enterprise. Free enterprise is the freedom for private businesses to operate for a profit without interference from the government. Therefore unlike a totalitarian government the people don’t have the tension of the government interfering in their businesses. Also if businesses are free then they tend to innovate more, come up with more ideas and therefore there will be more competition and competition will make them do anything to attract customers and after all of this hard work, the economy of the country goes up.

For example, America is a capitalist country. After America has become a capitalist country, their economy has boomed. This is because in a capitalist government people are free to choose what they wanted to do and if people are interested in something then they tend to do well at it. A capitalist government is driven by free enterprise, like in America so there are a lot of businesses which run and since there is little government interference, more people are motivated to innovate in order to beat their competition and they keep innovating in order to be the best and this causes a boom in the economy. Free enterprise spawns creativity and innovation. It leads to economic growth and since more businesses have been setup and the economies have grown the people become richer and this also improves their living standards. They get to live a more luxurious lifestyle in better homes.

Capitalism

The capitalism is an economic system in which the factors of production are privately owned and money is invested in business ventures to make a profit. Actually, this idea helped industrialization to occur. However due to this idea, there was a gap increasing between the rich and the poor. As the result, some people like Marx and Lenin demanded the idea of communism. The communism is a form of complete socialism in which the means of production would be owned by the people. That means everybody should be sharing equal amount of profits. However, I strongly disagree with this idea because capitalism helps more for the country to develop and grow through the competition and most importantly, it gives us the freedom..

First of all, the Capitalism allows people to work more effectively. If you work hard, then you get more. This is the basic idea of Capitalism. Therefore, everybody could use their abilities. While, the Communism discourages the competition among people. Because they would get the same amount of money regardless of the amount they work. To illustrate this point, North Korea is a Communist country. However, this country is having a hard time to grow faster. Do you know the reason? Because, they don’t have the motivation to work. Everybody gets same amount of money and everything is not the property of them. They don’t have desire and motivation so they don’t work. Therefore, the country doesn't grow.

In addition,Governments should not interfere with the rights of the individuals to make their own living. I think the people must have their freedom. And Capitalism allows this freedom because the government does not disturb with high taxes. As I said, this idea spurs industrialization. That means it allows us to think more creatively. And this creative thinking allows the innovation and the invention. However a communist country doesn't allow people to think creatively. Think about the dictator of Russia, Stalin. He really didn't want people to think creatively. He only wants the people to think in his way. As the result, the country can not develop as quick as other country. If the government interfered with their lives, there would be discouragement among workers, and they might not want to work more. It allows us the country to grow more and more.

You know what? The people who insist the communism are the poor. However, nowadays, people should work with their own abilities. Nobody who loves capitalism said you have to be poor. There is always the opportunity to become rich unlike the communism. The only problem is that the poor doesn't want to work hard because they’re lazy. Therefore, only this way, the country and the business will prosper. I strongly agree with Capitalism.

Everyone seems to be misinterpreting this; communism is a form of society in which the people are equal. That doesn't mean the means of production are divided equally. Learn the difference.

As for your strong disagreement, tough luck. Many people 'strongly disagreed' with Obama's reelection, but guess who's in the White House now. Capitalism gives the illusion of importance of every individual, when really the only person that cares about you is yourself. At least communism doesn't hide behind a lie; it blatantly states that we're all the same. Any differences that come between us are materialistic, like money, guns, and race. These differences have been brought about by capitalism, in an attempt for people to get more money.

Which brings me to my next point. This motive that capitalism apparently brings about. All it really does is inspire people to push others down so that they can bring themselves up and get their own money. They don't give a damn about anyone else. North Korea isn't a pure communist country, so it can't be used as an example for anything. There have never been any pure communist countries, because the leaders that try to implement it fail to interpret it correctly, and then execution is another problem entirely.

Next, you think people should have their freedom? Brilliant! Let's send that to the papers! See how many people in high enough places actually agree with you. No one gets their freedom by working hard; you always have to work hard. If you stop working hard, you slip, lose money, and then have to work even harder. Think of the course of your life. You had to go to day care, then preschool, then elementary school, then middle school, and now you're in high school. That's around fifteen to seventeen years spent with you working hard to keep a good grade. Why do you need a good grade? To get into college, which is another four to five years of your life down the tubes. Then you have to get a job, and unless you happen to be extremely gifted, you're stuck working until you're at least seventy years old, so you can get a good enough pension to live the rest of your life freely. Except that by then you're too old to do anything. You spent your years of 'freedom' working your butt off so that you could have this nonexistent freedom later. Capitalism is an illusion, nothing more. It is a system built on lies.

If you think the government doesn't interfere with your life under capitalism, you must be delusional, because as long as the government exists, it will mess with you. For example, in France the rich are being taxed 75% of their earnings. Who imposed these taxes? The government. Is France a communist country? No. See the problem with your logic?

Now, this last paragraph I love. I'm going to say this in advance, I may be a lot more offensive about this than any other comment I've made, because now you're just spouting nonsense. Those who insist on communism are the poor? Tell me, how is that a justification for anything? Since when could you just shrug off an argument because someone is poor? And plus, who are you to make a generalization? Such an insane one, as well. Where does this level of 'poor' stand? To someone like Bill Gates, we're all poor. To one of the beggars on the street, another beggar that got some spare change is a wealthy man. Poverty and wealth are relative terms, and you have no right to even attempt to justify your argument by claiming someone else's poverty.

People that become impoverished aren't necessarily the good-for-nothing worthless pieces of trash that never did an honest day's work in their lives, either. It isn't that people want to be poor, but if some people want to lead a life of luxury, there will be people that are forced to be miserable. That is the truth in capitalism; the motivation and whatever other nonsensical fairy tale ideals that have cloaked its image may be extremely convincing, but capitalism INSPIRES poverty. It requires people to be poor so that it can get the rich to sing its praises all day. The whole system is just dripping with deceit.

POOR PEOPLE AREN'T THE SAME AS LAZY PEOPLE GET THAT IN YOUR HEAD. Suppose someone was to be put in life support because maybe he lost all four limbs, a tongue, and, just for good measure, his right nostril. Now, assuming of course that he could actually take all these injuries and not die, and also that there was a way to heal him, he would be metaphorically bled dry. If he did somehow survive this incident, he would have had to use his every last penny to get to that state, and then some. He would be, as you so crassly stated it, poor. Does that make him lazy? Is there an opportunity for him to rise up? He needs rehab! He can't get a job or anything, and if he did, he would have to be insane. Unless he managed to get money off of press coverage for surviving something so implausible, there would be no way for him to raise any money for himself, but that doesn't mean he's lazy. Having no money is rarely a result of lethargy, and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Finally, I have reached the final line of your argument, which in itself is just plain stupid. You strongly agree with capitalism? Congratulations, I strongly agree with cutting your head off and feeding your rotting corpse to the vultures after your comment on laziness, but that doesn't necessarily make that the right choice. Assent doesn't equate to authenticity.

In a capatalist country, the country is driven by free enterprise. free enterprise is the freedom for private businesses to operate for a profit without interference from the government. Therfore unlike a totalitarian government, the people have the satisfaction of having the government to not interfere.

In a capitalist state, all property is privately owned, and adduced that capitalism is the mutually beneficial trade where it is held that both sides tend to benefit by an exchange.

Capitalism is an economic system and not a political system. Countries thus do not (typically) enshrine capitalism as a part of their constitutional framework, nor do they typically limit policy choices to capitalism. However, the vast majority of countries (almost all liberal democracies and most authoritarian systems) in the world use capitalism as their dominant economic system, including the United States, Canada and Mexico, all of the 27 countries of the European Union (Ireland, UK, France, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, Louxembourg, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Malta, Cyprus, Austria, The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Greece), as well as many, many other countries (such as Australia, Japan, India, Egypt, Tunisia, Indonesia, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland, Botswana, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Russia, Turkey etc. etc.). Even some countries which in-name follow different economic systems (such as China, claiming to have a "communist economy with Chinese characteristics") are capitalist (i.e. have most of the output coming from industries in private property trading and setting prices on a free market by the laws of supply and demand, and have a legal framework geared to protecting and encouraging such a system of production). It is actually easier to count countries that are not capitalist (such as North Korea, Cuba or most of Vietnam), or still have some way to go until ancient economic structures make way for capitalism (such as in Bhutan or in significant parts of Sub-Saharan Africa).

Most of these countries embrace the fundamentals of capitalism.

Freedom of expression is the concept of being able to transfer ideas or thoughts verbally or otherwise freely without censorship. It was awarded global recognition as a universal human right and ingrained in the Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In spite of its status, it is never absolute in any country. The international law posits that, restrictions on free speech must comport with a strict three part test viz: operate under provision of the law, express legitimacy in pursuing aim, and display the relevance to the accomplishment of the said aim.

Communism is a network of ideals based on the principles of one of the most impartial ideologies of Karl Marx, applied to Russia by Lenin and China; two largely effective governments working for the overall benefit of its common people and not the wealthy. The basis of Communism is the idea that wealth is distributed throughout the state to create a ‘wholesome’ community which is run by the government to elude corruption—as often happens—in many capitalist societies where money is a means of accommodation for the wealthy/middle class versus a useful means of operating a country. This ideology has also become a device in the past for the reformation of deteriorating economies such as after the first gruesome revolutions in Russia, ‘Bloody Sunday’ and the February/March revolution of 1917, to help them restore order. Economic reforms under Lenin and Stalin helped Russia once again rebuild the Russian economy and allow it to become a leading force In the steel industry.

In the present, Communism is often misinterpreted as a path for totalitarian government and dictatorships such as that of modern-day China. Its core principles are in fact centered on, and similar to, the overall goal of many other political and social systems: to achieve and maintain order in society. This order could be political, economic, or social. In many ways it claims superiority over the other systems because the fundamental flaws of Communism are typically at the fault of the leader attempting to interpret and execute Communist ideals versus fundamental flaws in the ideologies themselves. In the light of this fact we may conclude that it is a superior system because although democratic, socialist, or capitalist ideals may seem more appealing, the consent by the state to give power to the individuals is a mistake far larger than that of any previously Communist state in history. With power of the individual precedes a power to change the tide of the government, and thus disorder. In a Marxist-Communist state, responsibility and total devotion of the people to the state is crucial; without arresting many freedoms of the individual, the a Communist state is able to maintain order in comparison to a largely capitalist system which vows to respect the ‘rights’ of the individuals without being able to assure order without having to impose on the people through violence.

WARNING: This comment includes some offensive stabs at certain groups of people. No offense intended towards anyone included under these groups, although it will be read as offensive to the point of disrespectful. Sorry.

Have you ever been bullied? Felt left out? Felt like everyone was picking on you, just because you're the little kid with the big "nerdy" glasses and "goofy" haircut? Well then, Communism is the way to go! People need equality to survive; we were all created equal, so why is it that some people should be placed above others? We weren't made like this, were we? No one can rule over anyone else simply because of some value that MAN has placed on them. Money is artificial, not god-given, and nobility is gained through deceit, not honor. Would you rather be governed by someone who has cheated his way to the top of the social ladder, or govern yourself the right way?

And what about religion? How many wars have been started by that? There has been so much death and devastation caused by religion, which is really just a concept started by men who knew how to preach. It is simply another way to get people to believe they are better than others. Christians claim their God is superior, thus they kill everyone else and try to extend the support of their own "invisible man in the sky." (George Carlin) Muslims have been held responsible for many recent disasters, like one of the most famous bombings of all time, the 9/11 bombing in New York.

On the topic of bombing, there is another group that is famous for a large bombing. You may have heard of this disaster, it took place in two small Japanese cities called Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Who did this, you may ask if you have been hiding under a rock for a century. The United States of America! The land of the free! The motherland! The country full of obnoxious, obese, over-patriotic idiots! If you don't love America, then you don't deserve to live, according to these patriotic home-dwellers. By home-dwellers, I mean they haven't left their country unless they jumped the border. These people are so in love with their country that they see the bombing as a success! Americans are proud of causing devastation on such a large scale, it's obvious. Just look at their own country, they've had two famous shootings in 2012 alone. There are Americans that are proud that they managed to 'help' the second world war with a couple bombs. Where is the humanity? Has this capitalist country really sucked all the conscience out of its people? If they realized that everyone is equal, then maybe they wouldn't be responsible for such large-scale disasters. And, if this mass dystopia from the capitalists wasn't enough, Americans are also worried about their safety! Imagine that! After they (to use an American's words) "killed two cities," they are afraid they will be targeted. Isn't that a surprise? If only that country were communist, the people may have thought twice before dropping a bomb on Japan. Maybe, if they had been communist, they wouldn't have had the Aurora shooting or the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. The killers in both incidents were made to feel like they were worse than everyone else. Adam Lanza, who was responsible for the Sandy Hook shooting, was made an antisocial, and evidence may suggest he was attempting revenge on certain teachers. James Holmes, obviously the Aurora shooter, was suddenly hit by a wave of displeasure. This could all have been avoided if people knew then that they were worth no less than others. No one is 'above' anyone else, no matter how much they try to make it appear. Everyone is the same, so we should not be made to think otherwise.

"The rich get richer because the poor get poorer." (Jordan Williamson) Why should we allow this? People get more money by cheating the underprivileged, is that fair? Isn't equality one of the human rights? Slavery started because people thought they were above others, which is wrong! Pick Communism, the true ideology, and we will march together towards a perfect utopia.

First off, I never said anything about communication. I don't understand your first sentence, so I will believe it to be senseless and ignore it. Now that that is out of the way, how about we examine the rest of that dispute, shall we?

"Dynamic, selfless, and efficient ruler" is the first phrase that jumps out at me. Are you trying to say that any ruler has been selfless and efficient? Actually, let me rephrase that: Are you implying there has ever been anyone selfless and efficient? People don't work that way, there is always a self-serving reason for people's actions, even if it's something as abstract as love or jealousy. People only do what they feel is best for them, which, thanks to American and European domination worldwide, appears to be supporting capitalism. Back on topic of the 'selfless' ruler, since that word is probably the most painfully inaccurate in the phrase, there has never been any ruler that has acted selflessly. No one. At all. There is no arguing this, it's a fact. If you don't believe me, try human psychology, because everyone has their own motives to do anything they want. How they justify themselves later may be true or false, it's impossible to tell, but there is always a core reason that people almost never reveal, which ever extends past their own being. At the basics, everyone looks out for themselves, and only themselves.

The two words that are almost as blasphemous as selfless also happened to be used in the same sentence. "Without bias or partial." I'm not going to talk about the faulty grammar in that, but nothing at all is unbiased, or impartial. Nothing. People judge before they even know what they're judging. Imagine a sickly thin man, with hollowed-out cheeks, and a stoop that forced him to walk with a cane. What do you think about him? Is he rich or poor? High class or low class? A king or a sage? For all you know, the princess of Jordan (who happens to live in Chennai) got a sex change, and decided to starve herself for two months, and this person here was the princess. Would you have guessed that by the initial description? No, because your brain was biased towards believing the person was either a poor hungry old man, or a con artist. Since we all live our cushy lives, we tend to think cynically of the underprivileged, because we know, whether subconsciously or not, that people do attempt to cheat us by putting on a show. It is impossible to be unbiased. And, since impartial is a synonym, the absolute lack of partiality is equally impossible.

As a final point, where have you seen this "unrest?" Did you see it personally? Was this a first hand account? Or do you maybe have a relative that visited these areas of "unrest," and video taped them? Or did you just read about the alleged "unrest" from the biased history documents, written by the self-serving winners? Communism is obviously going to be described to have been terrible, because if it was described as heaven on Earth, then the people would be mad at capitalists for getting rid of the system. The truth is that, unless you lived the communistic life, there is no way you would know what this "unrest" really was. Capitalism is contagious, but that's only because people always want the easy way out: buy stuff until you get happy, and then get rid of a small amount of the stuff to make room for more stuff. Communism requires more effort from everyone, but the end result, content and peace, are well worth the struggle.

This dispute is flawed. You can't ask for examples, and then deny the most famous one. China is a communist country, and everyone knows that. There are many different branches of communism, and China falls under the branch called Maoism. Aside from China, however, there are also Vietnam, Cuba, Laos, and North Korea. People still follow communism, it isn't that they don't, but it has been modified by the rulers. The ideology of communism isn't flawed, it's the leaders that attempt to enforce it. Check Sofia's argument about that, she stated it better than I did.

Christianity's true purpose is not as said, "[It is simply another way to get people to believe they are better than others. Christians claim their God is superior, thus they kill everyone else and try to extend the support of their own "invisible man in the sky." (George Carlin)]" It has changed and been abused over the years. Some "religious" people have using their man-given power, such as the pope to start the Crusades or other slaughterings that were, "in God's name" but were the farthest from. The of Christianity is to spread the good news yes, but it has never been the Christian goal to kill in order to spread the religion. You say "We weren't made like this, were we?" though do you truly believe we were created at all? True war were started under the claim of "religion" though I don't believe that was the true motivation.

Are you aware of the difference of Communism and Capitalism? or the reasons the Capitalism is prevailing Communism system for these days? The people like us, who have lived and adopted Capitalism system, spawning vast social problems, for the whole life, mostly have biased view about Communism in the negative aspects. Therefore people reply “yes” for the question, and compare all the bad or negative examples of Communism with all the good or negative examples of Capitalism for the backing reasons. This is completely wrong way for comparing two systems objectively, and This is the legacy of the propaganda of Government’s policies. Though there are some practical and available problems, However, seeking rising social problems from Capitalism in these days, Communism is a way better than Capitalism for a government system, due to the reasonable, historical, and problem solving aspects as ideal communities.

Communism is reasonable for a government system by a problem solving cause such as human equalities. The Capitalism is based on economic growth, which means, the priority is not humanity, but properties. Therefore people study, play instruments, and sports for competing with other people. Therefore, always the huge gap between rich and poor exists, and still it is widen its gap exponentially. In fact, only one percent of American population monopolize forty-two percent, and eighty percent of American population share ten percent of wealth in U.S. (Source: William Domhoff) In contrast, Communism is based on human rights, which means the priority is humanity. All the wealth distributes in same rates and people are treated and work equally. It excludes competition, and encourages classless societies. Communism will automatically abate the wide gap between rich and poor, and also discrimination between classes and classes such as racism, feudalism and etc.

In conclusion, Communism will absolutely solve the growing global social problems such as discrimination among the human race, or individuals, and also the biased aspects of Communism. Therefore, Communism is a way better than Capitalism for a government system, due to the reasonable, historical, and problem solving aspects as a future, or ideal societies.

If you believe communism is better than capitalism, why do you think the countries in the world follow capitalism instead of communism? You mentioned competition is bad but think about it again. If there is no competition people will be the same. Their life, their knowledge will be all the same and there would be no improvement among the society. For example, because Britain was capitalism, and people competed each other, the economy of Britain could grow faster. The competition can make the ‘best’. And that improved Britain during Industrial revolution. The competition can make the society move forward and in capitalism, we support that competitions.

You cannot say Capitalism is better than Communism because more countries in the world follow capitalism instead of Communism. There is no rule that majority are always better than minority. Also, it is true that 'best' will come out quicker in Capitalism than Communism since there are severe competition between people to people, company to company there will be severe side-effect of competition to come out with best result. For 'one best', majority of people in society become a 'failure'. This has also shown in Industrial Revolution, one of the your evidence. During Industrial Revolution, while few people were making money and living well, majority of people, who are factory workers were living in horrible situation. This has not changed a lot nowadays too. And this problem that Capitalism has will eventually draw society backward greatly as the economical gap between people to people grow bigger and bigger and make the class between people to people, which will lead severe conflict between class to class.

Don’t you suffer under the system of capitalistic cooperation between the wealth people? Many middle-class people in U.S.A are suffering because of an unemployment due to recession of economy in these days. On the other hand, the wealth people still remain their budget even if the economy goes down. Therefore, I’m claiming communism is the only solution that all people can be happy in a society.

First of all, communism is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless , moneyless, and stateless social order structured upon common ownership that aims at the establishment of social order. It is based on the Marxist theory that emphasize the productive forces and the distribution of resources based on the needs. This means the wealth is equally distributed in the state of communism, while there is a wide gap between poor and wealth in the state of capitalism. Even if some workers may lose their motivation to work hard, at least all people can live self-sufficiently with the provide of resources by the state. In addition, education and health care is provided by the state without any payment of insurance. This point provides the strong points of communism as the state provides money if there is a problem in one’s health or educational problem. In a capitalistic country, people have spent about half of their income to education of the children and health insurance. Finally, communist society aims the classless society that all people are considered to be equal.

You said something about motivation and that workers may lose that. Well if don't have motivation then it's your fault. But what happens then it's the government's fault. Even though your motivated the government goes corrupt? So as the government goes corrupt then no matter how motivated you are it's not you who is providing for your needs. In a capitalist society you only have one person to blame and thats yourself and the only thing that you don't need to be concerned about is your sense of security which the law will protect you on. Everything else you have to provide everything in your life because it's your mistakes your problems your needs. Not the government's, that way you can actually learn.

First off, Kav, no offense, but I'm a little lost in what you said... Some things didn't make much sense to me, so I might not have understood you right, but are you saying in a capitalist society you only blame yourself? Please tell me you're joking. How many times have the politicians been blamed for screwing up a country? I mean any country: India, USA, France, Spain... No one blames themselves in a capitalist society, they just learn how to pass the blame on to someone else.

You also mentioned something about the law protecting you? Sorry, no... Law works based on money; no one cares who's right and who's wrong in law, if you can't provide enough proof, or enough cash, then you've lost no matter what. The law won't protect you, it's far too political.

And that last point, about learning? What do you learn? Or rather, let me rephrase that, what positives are you learning? You learn how to create a story to say how you're not at fault; you learn how to hate the world when you fail; you learn how to get ahead by cheat and deceit. Capitalism inspires the loss of morale and conscience through this motivation for money. All you learn from this system is how to ignore everyone other than yourself.

I read your argument and I would like to dispute against your argument. You said the communism provides the equal amount of money to everyone so everybody could live stateless. However, do you think it spurs the motivation of workers? You also said that even though the motivation of workers go down, they can be distributed the same amount of resources by the government. I have a question. Where does the government get this money to buy the resources. This is from the worker. However, worker doesn't want to work. How do you think about that? In addition, Capitalism doesn't say that the workers should be remained as the poor. Capitalism actually provides the opportunity to work in society unlike Communism. Capitalism really fairly redistributed the resources depending on how much you work. Nobody said that you can't work in Capitalism. You have to earn money by your self. And only lazy people don't try and don't get their profits. And blaming about Capitalism. Thank you for reading!

Being on the communist side, I'm sure you dearly supported their recent nuclear test having been unauthorized and openly oppressed by nations worldwide, including their "partner in crime", China. Of course, now that we think about it, nobody cares because their closest attempt to a nuclear missile will be a water jug with radioactive material thrown inside, strapped to a rocket with duct tape, lit by a match and thrown into the air by a few bulky Korean guys - that of which will end up falling down after the first thousand feet on their own country and blowing themselves up, which is basically what every other country has wanted to do but sadly, has not been able to as a result of North Korea's childish temper tantrums. It is true that there are various forms of equality and communism can be seem aggresive, but we need these form of strong statements and ideas which represents the plead of millions of suppressed workers and peasants. Furthermore, though we cannot make a Utopia where everyone are equal in every aspect, developing from the fundamental principles of communism, we can adjust it to our society such as Leninsm which was made to fit the Russian society. Communism is the highest and perfect stage of society. In communism there will not be government and any form of social structure. Every one works according to his ability and gets according to his needs. This ideal situation happens because the consciousness of human beings will be very high and work towards the benefits of all unlike the present greedy society. Every thing in communism is advantage and there will not be any disadvantage.

Communism is when all people of the society work for the society, and not for themselves. Everyperson, in essense, fills a billet that is designed for the good of the whole.

Benefits, in pure communism, not the monstrosity that the USSR tried to pull off, are that everyone has food on their plate and a place to live.

The disadvantages, and realilty, people are not equivically rewarded for the job they perform, there is no incentive to better yourself. A doctor would make the same salary as a store clerk.

I believe consciousness has a limit unlike greed. (Capitalism uses the Human nature- Greed as a motivation to work hard.) When we studied more but got same grade as others, we generally feel some kind of anger. Likewise, if someone work less and get same amount of salary, we feel some kind of anger or sore. Your conscious to work hard will be covered by the desire to rest more even though you were a hard worker. (The communist country should use some methods that keep people’s consciousness up to work hard.) In that condition, it is very difficult to get more amounts of products and critical idea to invent better products. Thus, communism is disadvantageous for the nation’s economic growth.

Communism is good because It is equal, and has classless society, where people could express their own ideas with the same weigh with others. Also it is important that We also have our private property where we know where we have made our effort and that we would not share with the ones who have not made effort. Also to support this we communism takes wealth where it is distributed equally.

In modern days, issues relating to the communist groups are constantly debated around the globe. These recurring debates often brings curiosity among citizens and questions the term communism. Unfortunately, it’s quite depressing and frustrating that most people, using their shallow knowledge, view communism as a violent, unjustful, and terrifying idea which brings catastrophe in nations. It is completely understandable that people get these impressions but the reports and descriptions about communist nations are the result of their stupid persistence of greed, not communism itself. Communism is an idea which promotes free society with no division or alienation where there are no defined government which controls the society. Though people view this in a negative perspective, we cannot ignore its positive and rational traits found in various aspects of society; promotion of equality between gender, denial of dominance of economy by huge industries and support for education and health care provided by the government. Among these traits, I'd like to focus on the idea everyone agrees to and is constantly promoted in the society; pursuit of equality between gender and classes. For centuries starting from the Enlightenment, people fought against the bias and the sense of superiority over women and the poor which were inherited by our ancestors. Communism promote this as not just an idea, but a policy and a common sense everyone has to follow. Applying this to the society will accelerate resolving issues relating to foul treatment toward not only to women but also to people suffering from class difference. Moreover, this can also promote a balanced society where the economy is developed and maintained by not just few extremely wealthy enterpreneurs, but by everyone, each in various states and from different fields. Through these changes to be brought through implication of communism ideas, we can create a more stronger yet stabilized society. However, it is true that some communist nations are deteriorating but this is just a result of misconception of the principles and traits of communism. If adjusted correctly, containing the same goals as the original concept, communism will definitely be beneficial to various nations.

Communism is a political thought based on sharing of efforts and sharing of resources.

There are a few points that support the idea that communism is a better system than capitalism.

Firstly, in a communist state, people are all treated equal, regardless of education, financial stability, and so on. Economic boundaries don’t separate or categorize people, a situation that eliminates crime and violence.

Secondly, since in a communist regime the state owns all the means of production, every single citizien is entiteled to have a job. These work opportunities help everyone to eat and survive, and at the same time boost state production and efficiency.

Thirdly, in communist societies, everyone is believed to be equal. This means that everyone can work hard equally and harmoniously without stabbing each other’s backs. All the work and responsibility are shared equally among the citizens. If everything is shared equally, people will not envy thir neighbours for their sports car, and evryone would live harmoniously and economic development can be maintained .

Finally, the sense of cooperation would allow for healthy distribution system. There would be efficient resource distribution, even in poorly accessible areas. This would allow for a fast response time in case of emergency situations and an easier distribution of goods.

Communism is a revolutionary socialist movement to create a classless, moneyless and stateless social order structured upon common ownership of the means of production, as well as a social, political and economic ideology that aims at the establishment of this social order. This movement, in its Marxist–Leninist interpretations, significantly influenced the history of the 20th century.

We make products together and share it as individual needs. The wealth and equality is divided among the people in which no man is richer and no man is poorer.

The people in the Communism are all equal. there are no class, and other discrimination.

If you have barely enough food for your own family and your neighbor has none at all. You make sure in all equality that even though you may barely have food, you must give some to your neighbor. You both will eat dinner tonight even if it is not the full suggested amount.

But in Capitalism, there are many kinds of discrimination. Capitalism discriminate people by money. In the society of Capitalism, people must earn the money for themselves. For that reason, there are big money gap between the one who has much money and the one who is poor. The amount of money storage becomes the factor of discrimination.

Then, in Capitalism, people see others as enemy. They always compete one another. But Communism is different. We work together and earn together. This will help become people

First of all, in a communist regime, people are treated equally regardless of their educational background, financial situation, religion or race. Economic boundaries don’t separate or categorize people, a situation that eliminates crime and violence.

In the communist system, everyone is entitled to a job, because all industry is owned by the government. And it can provide jobs for a majority of the people. Everyone in a communist country is given enough work opportunities for them to live and survive.

In communism, the government controls the economy and thus provides a certain amount of stability. Every citizen is required to work in order to receive benefits, and those that don’t have corresponding sanctions. This creates an incentive to participate and to help in economic growth.

In communism, there are equal laws for all and if the citizens abide by these laws, this leads to a harmonious spirit of sharing with one goal. This consequently builds stronger social communities, and an even stronger economy.

In communist societies, everyone is created equal. This means that everyone can work hard and earn an equal share of the profits without any competition. This leads to the smooth operation of business without envy or jealousy that could go against the goals of the state.

Communist societies are very efficient at resource distribution even in localized areas. This is very important especially in times of need and in emergency situations.

Communism still has its practical aspects, especially in controlling natural resources.

Dear comrades, I apologize for joining this argument while we're down in points, but I do like that I've joined this late, as I was able to read all arguments thoroughly before voicing my thoughts. As for my opponents, in the nicest way possible, I believe that you are wrong, and that is the reason for continuing with this debate. The theories behind true communism have been in place from ancient times, and there is a reason why, the theories and motives behind communism are far superior than those of capitalism. There are two separate ways to argue this, depending on how you interpret the assignment. I chose to argue both the theory and the practice.

The theory of communism is far superior to capitalism. The extreme form of communism is no government. In that, everyone would have to work together to pull the country. This has worked before, as when humans were in their early stages, they naturally went for this option, which makes more sense. Groups of people were smaller at that point were quite small, but it still worked, and for thousands of years, mind you. Now the extreme form of capitalism is that the rich own the government. I believe that most of you would enjoy this, as most people in this school are well off, and almost all of you look to rich people in aspiration. But think of it this way, if you weren't rich, you would be a slave to those who were. In the extreme form of capitalism, people do not have equal rights. Now tell me that I'm wrong, because I honestly hope that I am, since I'm from a country that strives to be pure capitalist...

Now my main argument for practice is simple. Most forms of communism haven't been allowed to continue to grow. China is the best example we have, as it's economy is far superior to many of the countries in today's world, which thoroughly disproves the economic argument between the two. Though china is grand, almost all other forms have been attacked by the capitalists that fear the ability communism has to grow. Russia, Vietnam, Korea, and . These countries would have grown into major world powers if they had been allowed to. In short, the idea of communism hasn't worked because our modern society has forced it away.

Now I'd like to finish my argument with a question. Wouldn't you like to live in a small class of you, your immediate family, and your close friends, above a lower level of equals?

“The workers would control the government in a ‘dictatorship of the proletariat.’”

Communism is a form of the society based on the ideologies of Karl Marx that the wealth is distributed throughout the state. The main point of this type of society is the equality of the people.

In early days, Capitalism had created unequal distribution of wealth and material goods. Communists believed that it was unfair that capitalist employers took advantage of workers. They thought people should get equal profit and so the community of state must lead to protect workers. Therefore in the communist countries, the community or the state own property and the means of production and the wealth is distributed equally. People need one another, and when people work together as equals, they could achieve greater things. The state also provide education and healthcare, and it controls the economy too. In the communist countries, there is a classless society which means all members of society are considered to be equal. And because of this equality of the people, no one should have more than anyone else. Communism states everybody’s needs are equally important. However, in Capitalist states, employers gain all profits, but the workers get nothing. Capitalism is quite egoistic and unfair compared to the Communism.

Communism had expanded to all parts of the world during the Cold War. At the peak of Communist expansion in the 1980s, about 20 nations were Communist-controlled, including two of the world’s largest; Mao Zedong’s China and Lenin’s Soviet Union. In this days, there are only five Communist countries left: China, North Korea, Vietnam, Laos, and Cuba. However, this result does not mean that the Communism is a bad idea of the society. It’s ideologies are perfect and more respectful and generous to the people than the ideologies of Capitalism. The reason that the Communism had almost failed is because of people’s selfish mind. They wanted more advantage than others. Some of them didn’t work hard as other people did. As a result, it became difficult to distribute wealth because there was a huge disparity of amount of works between people. However, if people had respect and think others, then there might be more communist countries in now days.

When we see Capitalism, it is a system that focuses on the development of economy. It is said that everyone can earn their money depend on their effort on their own work. Is this theory work in reality? Actually not. This is easily proved by the graph of financial wealth distribution in the U.S

Net worth and financial wealth distribution in the U.S in 2010

http://www2.ucsc.edu/whorulesamerica/power/images/wealth/Net_worth_and_financial_wealth.gif

Source : Wolff.E.N

Seeing graph, 1% of top class in the United States, one of the major Capitalism country, earn 42% of financial wealth while bottom 80% of people earn 5%. This does not mean top 1% of people work more than the sum of work which bottom 80% of people did. Under Capitalism, only people who have money can earn money easily, while lower class cannot earn a lot though they work very hard. The eocnomical gap between top-class and bottom class has increased greatly and this will increase more and more as the time flows. (Percent change in After-Tax income since 1979 http://www.cbpp.org/images/cms//6-25-10inc-f1.jpg ) This increase will make the riches to maintain their rich, while the poor cannot get out of the swamp of poverty. This will give high possibility of creation of slum, where poor people live. This slum will decrease overall safety of society and increase the number of crime, give great harm to overall country.

Though there are several types of communism made and changed by various people. However, Marx's Marxism is the most well known communism type and this influenced to many people to create other types of communism such as Leninism. Marxism's communism's base is simple. There is no class, state, and personal property in the society and all the properties are common ownership. There is no person who hire people to work for him and give majority of benefits only to him. The owner of the country under Communism are Proletariat, workers, in Marxism. People work for all people and all the products made by people's work are distributed equality to everyone. No one will become failure since every properties are distributed equally to everyone. As every people in the country work for country's development, country will grow with every people in the country.

These are the reasons why Communism is the better system than Capitalism in economical views. It is true that Capitalism might develop faster than Communism because there are excessive conflict between people to people, corporation to corporation. And what was the result? Sub-prime Mortgage Crisis? Lots of people with no job?. It is certain that Capitalism has high possibility to develop faster. However, there are many serious side-effects in fast development. Those side-effect will eventually draw countries far backward and lots of people will suffer from it. On the contrast, though Communism might develop slower than Capitalism country, it will develop without many side-effects and will become to have stronger base than Capitalism country.

Communism is a political movement which believes in an economic system in which the government controls the means of producing everything for all people, aiming to create a society in which everyone is treated equally. Its Latin root word, “commune,” means “sharing and associating” indicating that the property of a certain community belongs to all members of a social system. Wealth is distributed equally among people. This system detects the deficiencies of morality between people made through the reasoning based on wealth. Communism criticizes the capitalism’s private property of people, which means that people with money are the ones who survive in society. No matter how hard a person tries, a person without any economical support would have an extremely small percentage to succeed in this world. On the other hand, communism, based on a shared property system, tries to create much rational and justified society through giving people the equal rights to gain money and succeed altogether.

The word communism flourished through the ideology of Karl Marx, who claimed to eliminate the gap between the rich and the poor and have a justified classless society ruled by the proletariats. From the ancient times of the history, people have always desired to have a fair treated society. Most of the big and small revolutions throughout the history, such as the French Revolution, American Civil War, and even a religious movement called Reformation caused from the improper treatment towards the lower class and the corruption of the people in the higher class, who could do anything as long as they gained money. And the utopia that people during those revolutions always dreamed of was always the ideal mind of a society called communism, in which all people could be treated equally and live in prosperity and peace.

There have been some governments in the past which claimed to have communism, such as the Soviet Union and China, which people call as the “failed societies.” However, I believe that these nations did not understand the true concept of communism, but rather borrowed a name called communism in order to fill up government’s greed for money.

Are you still suffering because of the Rich and Capitalism?? Like many of you, the middle class people were suffering under the Rich people and capitalist. For Example, middle class people in U.S.A were also suffering under the rich people, and Many of those middle class people were being unemployment. Thereby, like many of the middle class people were lashing more painful and sorrowful. Also, As they were being father or an offspring, they have to carry all the life with the economical burden. Also, many rich people like kind of trash, take their budget even their own country’s economic situation gets worse. All of those such a bad things were made or happen because of the communism. On the other hand, I would say that communism is exactly opposite to capitalism.

First of all, communism made, wants all the people to be a equal, classless. If all people are being equal, then all people will become very happy, peaceful and live without any economic burden as different as the capitalism.

Secondly, communism don’t want to produce any moneyless people like the homeless. Because, under the communist system, there will be all people are equal, therefore they got same amount of money. Because of this, communism won’t led people to be homeless or moneyless, and also they won’t produce such a little child who is exhausted with hunger.

For the last, communist is a revolutionary socialist movement to create classless, no moneyless and stateless social order structured upon common ownership that aims at the establishment this social order.

It is based on the Marxist theory that says “From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs “ which means ‘redistribution of wealth’.

To explain more about communism with details, communism was actually an economic-political philosophy founded by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in the second half of the 19th century. They met in 1844 with the same ideas and principles of communism. They wanted people to have equal rights. First thing that they did was analyzing other especially the capitalist economy. They found that capitalism emphasizes the rights of the individual and claims to give equal chance for every person to succeed in life. So that they concluded capitalism only creates classes among the citizens and leads to the oppression and exploitation of the lower classes. Coming up with new system, they designed communism to make a classless society in which every is clearly equal. Most scholars agreed with them and communism started to be active.

Citizens were happy with new system before Stalin became the leader of USSR and treated people with dictatorship which was totalitarianism forgetting about communism.

So, my conclusion is that when idea of communism had just came out, people were happy getting equal rights and money which means that basic ideas of communism are much better than ideas of capitalism which are allowing freedom to do what they want with their own money how they want. There are still gap between rich and poor in capitalism wheres there are no bagging people and sleeping people on the streets.

First of all, you mentioned that people work together and share it, but actually this stimulates workers not to put their effort on work and become lazy.

Secondly, the idea itself of communism is good. As you said, all people in communism are equal however being as a country, they need leader, and they already have it. That leader get more salary, furthermore the leader can get food though when everyone else are starving. And from all these aspects we can say the leader of communist country is a dictator. Finally, you said we see others as enemy. This seems bad but actually it isn't.

Competing is the dynamism of development, which means well-intentioned competition is helpful and necessary in many ways.
